Edison Bar
The Brief
Our interior design for Edison Bar celebrates Manchester’s industrial DNA — merging its heritage of invention with a modern hospitality experience. The brief was to design a social environment that balances warmth and raw authenticity, inspired by the spirit of Thomas Edison and the city’s innovation legacy.
The goal: craft a refined yet approachable space that feels both urban and timeless, designed for locals and visitors to unwind within a piece of Manchester’s story.

The Concept
Influenced by Manchester’s iconic warehouses and the ingenuity of Edison himself, the concept fuses deep weathered browns, vintage brass, and reclaimed timber for an industrial-rustic finish. The bar zone combines textured materials with statement Edison filament lighting to anchor the ambience.
Each zone — from client-facing seating to the bar, lounge and private dining — was designed for adaptability and atmosphere. Exposed brick, aged metals, and soft leather harmonise with a custom wallpaper finish that delivers warmth and depth.
The Outcome
The finished bar exudes understated sophistication, balancing industrial heritage with a relaxed, modern hospitality flow. Lighting, joinery, and finishes were crafted to invite longer dwell times while maintaining operational efficiency.
Edison Bar now stands as a vibrant reflection of Manchester’s evolving identity — a space that feels both familiar and inspiring, where design and storytelling work hand in hand.
